More than 20,000 people have joined the Organ Donor register in Devon a year on from the death of a young rugby player.
More than 20,000 people have joined the Organ Donor register in Devon a year on from the death of a young rugby player.

Lily Partridge, 22, suffered a fatal injury as she played in a training match in December last year.

She carried two organ donor cards, and following her death saved the lives of four people, and helped dozens of others who were sick and injured.

Her family say the young zookeeper's selflessness has meant many more have added themselves to the donor register, helping to save many more lives.

Her parents, Jeff and Liz Partridge, are now calling for England to adopt and 'opt out' system like Wales, meaning people will automatically be considered for donation unless they state otherwise. Continue reading
