Event kicks off 35th Blood Battle with Ohio State, highlights importance of organ donation
The public is invited to attend the free event, which includes a blood drive, opportunities to join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry and the Be The Match national bone marrow registry – along with games, prizes, a children’s Halloween costume contest, musical performances, autograph signing and a VIP view of the Big House – from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Jack Roth Stadium Club of Michigan Stadium.
Parking will be free at the stadium near the club-level doors on the Crisler Arena side.
For thousands of critically ill people, their cure is provided by a stranger -- those who sign up for bone marrow and organ registries. Mark J. Bernstein, chair of the University of Michigan Board of Regents, made a life-saving bone marrow donation in 2014, years after signing a bone marrow registry. Continue reading
