CHICAGO--Having a husband hospitalized for two months waiting for a heart transplant would be difficult for any newlywed couple.

Add a wife who is eight months pregnant with her first child, and it's clear the Dyer family is going through quite an emotional and physical challenge.

But Jordan and Heather Dyer, Janesville residents married in June, remain optimistic and upbeat despite being more than an hour apart amid their own medical situations. Jordan has been hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago since mid-August. Heather temporarily lives with her parents in Hampshire, Illinois.

“We just stay positive and keep thinking about the future ahead of us. We're going to have a great family,” Heather said. “You got to stay positive and just be there for each other.” Continue reading
